COLOMBIA!! What a time Colombia was. A time filled with lots of laughter and joy and so so so much hope.
Ministry overview: We were living at a church. in Medellín. The foundation was called Ciudad de Refugio. The main focus was to provide rehabilitation to drug addicts through providing shelter, discipleship, and work opportunities. The foundation had pretty much every ministry you could think of from youth to kids to homeless to recycling to kitchen ministry. One of my favorites was kitchen ministry because we got to tangibly serve the rest of our squad by preparing veggies for meals. I also really enjoy homeless ministry because we got to go to the broncs. The broncs is an area in Medellín with lots of cocaine usage and brokenness. We got to share the Gospel with them and pray over them. We saw many hearts touched and some of them even came to the church soon after. While there area itself was hard to be at, I have so much hope for redemption there.
How has God been moving: In Colombia, God was really teaching me what is means to sit at His feet. Life can be so busy and it’s easy to get caught up in things that don’t matter, like Martha (Luke 10). He has been teaching me to slow down and focus on Him in every moment. He has also been showing me how to bring all of me to him, no matter the emotion or thought.
Song of Colombia: Baruch Hashem by Barak. Baruch Hashem meaning “Blessed be the Lord” the word barak in Hebrew means “to bless or to kneel” I love Hebrew so much, like I cannot explain.
Prayer Requests: Pray for restoration and redemption in Medellín. Pray for hearts to be reached in Vietnam. Pray for unity on my team 🙂
